Outdoor Arena comprises of the self-catering De Rust Lodge and a quaint fishing village with log cabins built on stilts. Relax in our beautiful garden with waterfalls, dams and abundant bird life. 

We boast a lovely on-site restaurant called the Arena (please see this site for more information and hours on Arena Restaurant). They cater for all your gastronomic needs. The extensive menu has it all, whether you’re looking for a light meal, wood fired pizza or full supper. Guests are welcome to bring own alcoholic beverages.  The Wheelhouse at the restaurant overlooks the fishing dams and offers breathtaking sunsets and views on the estate.

A large variety of fish species are kept in our ponds. These include large mouth bass, small mouth bass, carp, barbel, blue kurper, blue gill, wit vis, tench and grass carp. 

At Outdoor Arena we breed sterile grass carp which is used for aquatic weed control. Our fish are distributed throughout the country and have been introduced to countless golf courses, parks, farms and reservoirs. We offer guided tours of our hatchery if arranged in advance; it is a very interesting experience. 

Fishing Village
We have constructed three beautiful wooden cottages in our trophy angling dam. The cottages are linked with wooden walkways across the water. Each cottage consist of two en-suite rooms as well as two single beds in the open plan living area. The kitchen is fully equipped,  jetmaster inside and outdoor braai’s, hospitality DSTV and all linen and towels are provided.

The Lodge
The two lovely suits on the upper floor of the thatched Lodge sleeps four people. The open loft provides 9 single beds (open plan dormitory style backpackers).
Ideal for the more discerning guests and or back packers. The lodge offers a fully equipped kitchen and indoor braai with comfy leather couches and picnic tables, on the ground floor. Our newly built braai facility at the small waterfall offers the ideal braai while savoring the breathtaking views and gardens.  Bikers : park you bike safely inside the lodge!
